Sustainable development of cultural industries leaves no choice for humanities researchers but to raise the issue of artistic identity as defined by complex structures of the imaginary and expressed primarily through art. The interdisciplinary research team of the art and creative industries project, funded by the Romanian National Plan for Research, aims to identify the philosophical and imagistic, functional and symbolic elements of meaning, the message of Romanian cultural objects and art works that can shape a cultural identity, also identified by visual cultural items. The next step is the digitization of these results, both of the source cultural object, and of the artistic experiments in various fields of visual arts. For research to find its utility, we created two online dialogue tools, equally scientific and artistic: The Visual Dictionary of Romanian Archetypes and Symbols, called REPERTORIUL AAICREA, and the Online Artistic Research Laboratory, called CREATIV ONLINE LAB. The platform was developed using PHP: Hypertext Pre-processor, a server-side scripting language designed for web development. The data comprised by the platform are stored in a MySQL relational database. The design of the platform is responsive; more precisely, it allows easy reading and navigation across a wide range of devices (PC, desktop computers, mobile phones). This paper presents an example of work in process, in several artistic fields: textile arts, costume arts and glass arts, as well as the use of digital tools and IT platform developed as a means of communication and online research. The works belong to the Bucharest University of Arts Master's students in collaboration with researchers at the National Institute of Textile Research and Development, Bucharest, Romania.
